Do you enjoy reading your poem as much as writing it? Often it’s a one night stand with no revisions! This is your chance to experiment and discover your own authentic and powerful voice when sharing your poem aloud.
Each reader will choose 3 poems to read lasting about 5 minutes including any introductions. Topics to be addressed are the use of a microphone, connecting with the audience, vocal articulation, projection, inflection, tone, and visual presentation.
One session will focus on a poem by each poet to discover its ‘musical’ language and how best to voice it. For more information call Diana Cole, 617-835-5716.
Led by Ocean State Poets Diana Cole and Carol Anderheggen
A Pushcart Prize nominee Diana Cole has been published widely. In her career as a professional singer and vocal coach she has led numerous workshops in aspects of performance as well as coached poetry colleagues in reading aloud.
As an active poet in the Northeast Carol Anderheggen has published in New England regional publications. Her first collection, Writing Down Cancer, is being published this summer by Finishing Line Press.
